DATE & TIME : Winter, midnight WEATHER CONDITIONS : Cold and lightly snowing, stars twinkling as the moon shines down upon 'Vulmaene Forest'. CHARACTERS INVOLVED : Nightingale, whoever wishes to join
The night grew brisk and ever black. Small specks of frozen rain fall from the dark twinkling sky as light snow covers the already covered ground. Tree's bare and coated with snow sleeves and boulders sprinkled with the white powder. sounds of distant crows can be heard as they await for their next carcass to arrive.
Soaring through the blackness of the night sky, a young female dragon, or otherwise known as a night fury, secretly floated through the darkness, peering down below for a spot to land and rest her tired wings. flying all day was stressing her limbs and wing muscles; rest was required if she wished to recover the energy she spent away.
Upon landing in the soft snow; the dragoness can be fully distinguished. Blackish-blue scales with a dark pattern of spider-web design on her face and stripes on the front of her legs and light pine green eyes; and the only difference she bore, the secondary fins absent from her body.
As the female ruffles her numb and worn wings to her sides, she turns her flat oval-shaped head round to review her surroundings, making sure no one was around to spot her. Secrecy was her advantage, as she wished it to be this night. seeing the coast clear; Nightingale begins to find her cave for the night.

Somewhere not far off, Spirit moved swiftly through the night leaving light footprints in the blanket of snow. He would often travel the land in his feral form to lower suspicion. The less people who knew about him, the better, was what he though. He lifted up his muzzle and took in the scent of the chill air around him. He was searching for a place to rest for the night. He hadn't had much sleep lately, from catching catching prey which was becoming scarce to him. When he had a feeling of his surroundings, he pressed on into the night, not aware of what awaited him.

Nightingale ruffled her wings as the small specs of snow gathered upon her scales. She senses no evil residents in this forest; it was calm and quiet, with the soft sound of snow under her thick paws and swishing finned tail. The fury dipped the tip of her nose in the snow, making a small indent and shook her head with a faint smile.
Carefully as she pondered through the snow covered forest, her ears stayed alert, turning casually to the sound of the crows in the distance and the soft little claws of woodpeckers climbing tree's and the tic-tic sound of their beaks to bark.
Nightingale inhaled the brisk cold air, puffing out breath like a smoke cloud from her hot breath. After traveling around for a while, she had spotted a small indent in some mountain boulders that would suffice as a cave. Jumping from snow and ice covered boulder, she made it to the entrance; shaking off any access now from her shiny blackish-blue scales.

After what seemed like hours, he finally came upon an imprint in the snow. It was slowly fading as the snow piled over it. Spirit sniffed the imprint and was alarmed that it was made by a creature of some kind. He looked at the other footprints in the snow leading to a sort of cave. No doubt the creature took up residence in there, he thought to himself. He thought it would be best to avoid the cave and went onward hoping to find another cave, if possible.

Nightingale could hear the faint crunch of footsteps in the snow near the entrance of the cave. She had been laying inside there for 2 hours and was only resting, she didn't wish to be caught sleeping in such a vulnerable place.
Nightingale lifted her head lightly, calling out in a sort of motor boat purr to see if the passerby was a dragon or another creature. Vibrating her head appendages and ears to produce the sound outward like a bat echo-locating communication to one of her own.
"Who's there?" she called out to the passerby.

He stopped in his tracks and heard a soft purring eminating from the cave. From the patterns of the sound, he guessed that the creature was a female dragon, but the type is unknown. He stays in his feral form, ever cautious and he barks in reply, I am just a wolf, I mean no harm.

poking the tip of her head out of the entrance, showing her face and piercing green eyes into the night. Spying a young wolf in the distance she breathed out calmly. The wolf wouldn't be a threat and she was much bigger than he was, there was no concern to keep hidden.
"I thought I heard someone out here..what are you doing all alone? wolves usually walk in packs don't they?" she said as she walked the rest of the way out, exposing her heavy chest, short neck, big long wings and finned tail as the 'Night Fury' to the wolf. Knowing the wolf had probably never seen one like her he'd know not to try attacking her.

He hesitated and thought carefully. He had never seen any dragon like her before, he knew only a couple of them, but none shared any distinct features like this one. He didn't know if he could trust her or not, so he pondered. He thought it would be best for her to not know who or what he was. He needed to focus on one thing and the only thing that mattered. Survival. He would have to lie to the female. "I have no pack, not anymore. I'm....traveling," he replied with a straight face. He knew he would probably be discovered, but for now this was the only thing he could do. He awaited her response.

Nightingale tilted her head as she sat but 2 feet from the male. her ears twitching to his explanation of 'traveling about' without the pack. so he was a loner at the time. But his speech..and the way he looked, it didn't sound so convincing. like he knew something more and wasn't going to reveal it.
She smiled, showing she wouldn't be nothing of a threat, 'well, you could come into the cave for the night. It will rain soon and rain hard, it's not good to be out in the rain."

He hesitated and eyed her. He didn't know of this was a sight of gesture or a trap. He pondered a while longer and decided. "....very well, but if I may ask, what kind of dragon are you? I've seen quite many dragons in my travels, but never have I seen one such as yourself." He was rather curious about this mysterious being and wanted to know a little more before making an actual decision. He waited for her answer, with his tail slightly swishing side to side.

Nightingale smiled, her teeth were retracted so it looked like a 'toothless' grin. "I'm a Night Fury, a very fast and elusive dragon, it's very rare to see my kin even in the same area. I am also known as 'offspring of lightning and death.' but that's what man-kind gave to my race many many years ago.."
Her ear flaps drop lightly as she continues, "There are less of us now. We were hunted for our tough hide and experiments..so many of us went to widespread to not get captured for man's tests they wished to release on us."

He felt like an idiot to ask such a question. He thought it was offensive, considering what her species has been through. oh...im sorry to have brought up the subject. Curiosity got the better of me."
"Sounds life you've been through a lot," he replied. Then the rain began to fall and his fur was soaking and felt heavy like a thick layer of velvet."we'd best be inside don't you think?"He said with a smile.

Night smiled and extended her wing for him to enter the cave as they escaped from the weather. "What about you? I'm curious"

He looked around the cave, seeming very homey in a way. He then answered her question. "Well you can probably tell by the wings, I'm an archangel" he said as he unfurled his red angel-like wings then folding them back. He didn't feel right telling her about his...other side. He pushed the thought away from his mind and smiled. "There used to be a lot of us back then, but things got bad after the war between the angels and demons, but that's in the past, so it doesn't matter." And that's about it," he said as his ear twitched slightly.
